Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone is having as good a holiday as I am! While I didn’t get any photography specific gifts, I did get something that will really help me build my business, an iPad! I am going to dedicate this post to sharing some discoveries I have made.

Apps:
Snapseed: this app is wonderful for editing on the go! It has tools for adding “ambience”, adjusting contrast and sharpening the image. I like this app more than the Adobe Photoshop Express app.

Light Meter:
This app is a great tool. It is more convenient on the iPhone or an iPod touch, but it allows you to set the ISO and aperture and it will tell you an appropriate shutter speed. It is not foolproof; you still have to use your judgement but this tool has been a big help for me and my thrift store SLR (:

Devices:
Camera Connection Kit: this is perfect for me! It is essentially an SD card reader that allows you to import your images straight onto your iPad for quick editing or viewing. My plan is to take my iPad with me to sessions and when we are near the end, I can show my clients their photographs and see what we might need to reshoot.

Here is an example of a photo that I edited on Snapseed, uploaded from the SD card:
